Why I Hired my First Coach

I heard about this thing called creative avoidance - when you get creative at blocking your own progress or create problems just so you can solve them.

It felt like I was on a hamster wheel, doing a bunch of work but not really getting anywhere.

Creative avoidance creates the illusion that you're making progress.

I didn't want to end up 5 to 10 years later with regret, unconsciously avoiding something so I hired a coach to help me see what I couldn't see.

I continue to work with coaches because I'm always working through unconscious conditioned patterns that are driving my behaviour.

I don't have it all figured out.

I'm on my own confusing, joyful, painful, liberating wild ride that we call life too!

Why I Became a Coach

I dreaded going into work.

I was living the script of life - go to school, get a job, buy a house, get married, have kids, retire at 65 - doing what I was supposed to do, comfortable but unhappy.

I had no idea what I really wanted for myself.

I believe we all have unique gifts, strengths and fascinations that when cultivated and used to serve others are meant to support us.

After experiencing powerful coaching, I realized, "I think this is something I'd be really good at."

So, I began offering coaching for free then gradually began charging money. I built my business on testimonials, referrals and invitation only.

Eventually I was able to quit my 9 to 5 job.

Turns out coaching nourishes my soul, and I believe, is part of what I'm built to do.

I love supporting others on their journey inward and watching everything on the outside change as a result.

He teaches what he calls Applied Empathy, coaching couples, leaders and teams to connect across differences, leverage the power of their diversity and engage with open hearts.
